Kaio Wu Hiu Nam (b. 1998), Bachelor of Fine Arts from RMIT University and Hong Kong Art School, currently pursuing a Master's degree in Cultural Management at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Wu’s works focus on contemporary culture, social formation, and minimalism. She advocates for practicality and a minimalist approach in all her works. Wu advocates for conceptual, visual, reusable, and practical art.
Wu is deeply influenced by contemporary art, popular culture, and modern design. Growing up in the unique environment of Hong Kong, she believes that art should be practical, reduce its reliance on space. Wu uses strong text, color, and design to effectively convey messages and emotions, using humor and conceptual approach to reflect and critique cultural phenomena in modern society.
Wu's works have been exhibited in prestigious art spaces such as 10 Chancery Lane and chi K11 Art Space, among others. She was awarded the 'Hidden Space Award' in 2022 and has been appointed as curator of solo and group exhibitions since her graduation in 2022. Her works have also been published in the Australian magazine BOWEN ST PRESS.
Beyond her artistic achievements, Wu is dedicated to the development of Hong Kong's cultural framework. In recognition of her creative thinking on cultural development, she was selected as a youth leader and outstanding cultural ambassador in 2022.
